| NYC in full support of Health Workers
This week has been amazing so far! Everywhere you looked, you saw signs of support for health workers. Whether it was on the street outside of Good Morning America where ABC announced their Million Moms Challenge, at the human mosaic we staged with the Health Workers Count coalition, or at the Social Good Summit where Raj Shah, Administrator of USAID, posed as a “health worker hero,” everyone was talking. It felt like NYC was the center of the universe and health workers were at the center of the conversation.
But what’s happening today? Today the people of NYC, and every other American town, have probably moved on to any number of new stunts or topics of conversation. Have we done enough to get them to take action today?
It’s hard to tell. There are so many ways for the public to show their support for a cause. You can vote, you can sign a petition, you can make a donation, you can wear a t-shirt or bracelet, you can get a tattoo…the possibilities are endless.
But today, we hope you will consider taking one of these simple actions in support of health workers: Send an electronic letter to Congress urging them not to make massive cuts to programs that save the lives of mothers and children around the world. There is a template letter ready to use on the website but you can add your own points of view as well.
